Asia (HDW) June 27, 2004 - Even as a tropical storm, Typhoon Tingting brought huge amounts of rain to the western Pacific. On June 27, 2004, Tingting dumped 16 inches of rain on Guam in the Northern Mariana Islands. By the time this true-color image was acquired on June 29, 2004, Tingting had strengthened into a typhoon with 92 mile per hour winds that gusted up to 115 mph.
